This Potty Training Social Story for girls is specifically designed to help children with autism understand the process of potty training and feel more comfortable with using the toilet.
Social stories are a proven method for teaching children with autism about social situations and behaviors. The Potty Training Social Story takes this approach and applies it to the task of potty training. The story uses simple language and illustrations to explain the steps involved in using the toilet, from sitting down on the potty to washing hands afterward.
One of the benefits of using a social story for potty training is that it helps children with autism understand what is expected of them in a clear and visual way. This can reduce anxiety and uncertainty around the process and make it easier for both the child and the caregiver.
The Potty Training Social Story also includes a Potty Chart, a Hand Washing Chart, and a Reward Chart w/Cards. All with editable text.
Overall, the Potty Training Social Story is a great resource for anyone looking to make potty training a less stressful experience for a child with autism and succeed with this milestone in a fun way!
This social story book is 8 1/2 x 11 with 15 pages of editable text.
I recommended you print this book on heavy card stock and use thick lamination, then bind the pages together with coil binding, comb binding, or rings. You could also slip the pages into sheet protectors and insert them into a notebook. You will need velcro for the Reward Chart/Cards.
I have included a ZIP file with a PDF that you can edit with Adobe Acrobat, a Word Document, and a PowerPoint file.
Please make sure you have one of these programs if you want to edit the text.
